Dame Satan wins Band of the Month in Deli Magazine Poll

That’s right, folks; D.S. is number one in San Francisco this month, edging out second-place finisher Switchblade Riot by a small percentage. We at GMR headquarters would like to extend a large, rowdy thanks to the multitudes of fans, friends, and family members who hit the internet hard as part of this super-bro grass-roots effort on behalf of some classy gents. As many of you know, D.S. (crowned “underrated” by the SFBG’s Kim Chun a few months back) has been slugging it out in the touring trenches for over five years.  While this small victory will not spark a sea change in popularity for this winsome trio, everything counts, in some respect, towards something. For example, after hearing the news, I bought myself an ice cream cone (not a clown-cone) and savored it along with the taste of victory. I rarely eat ice cream, and almost certainly would not have at that moment had we lost. The ice cream tasted really good. I’ll probably have it more often. Caramel is my favorite variety. Every Dame show now features special guests: Recent alums include Rusty from Two Sheds/Jackpot and Nathan Wanta from Last of the Blacksmiths. Nathan killed it on keys and vox at du Nord last weekend. It was cozy rubbing shoulders w The Finches/Palms, the very first bill-mates D.S. ever had. Stay tuned in the New Year for exciting news, fresh deep cuts, and tours aplenty.

best, Andrew of D.S. (Dusty Seals)
